The Restoration Authority Board will make funding decisions at public meetings based on its enabling legislation and the requirements of Measure AA. The Board may fund projects to protect and restore San Francisco Bay for future generations by (1) improving water quality by reducing pollution and trash and engaging in restoration activities; (2) restoring, monitoring and maintaining habitat for fish, birds and wildlife; (3) using natural habitats to protect communities from floods; and (4) increasing shoreline access and encouraging public participation in protecting the Bay's health.
The Restoration Authority achieves its mission through awarding grants to partner organizations to undertake projects that further its goals.
The Authority is particularly interested in supporting projects that address equity and include benefits to economically disadvantaged communities through meaningful community engagement, as described in the State Coastal Conservancy's Tips for Meaningful Engagement document.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to consult with Restoration Authority staff during the project solicitation period before submitting your application. Consultations are normally 30 minutes and via phone. To schedule your pre-proposal consultation, please reach out to email@example.com
An optional webinar about Grant Round 3 will be held on October 9, 2019. To be notified of how to register for the webinar, sign up for our mailing list here. A registration link will also be added to this page closer to the webinar date.
Additional information on funding decisions, including project eligibility, eligible grantees, prioritization criteria, and the process for the review and approval of grants, can be found in the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority's Grant Program Guidelines.
